Ghosts in the brothel
Hello and welcome to my website. I'm a crime fiction author with a unique writing style that readers seem to enjoy. I appreciate the positive response my work has received and I want to foster that connection with a wider audience. I'm looking forward to your reaction on the new book and other ones as they come to fruition. In the meantime, check out Ghosts in the Brothel and, if you missed it, The Tangerine Murders. Both are part of the Tara Street Mystery series.

GHOSTS IN THE BROTHEL
“
Awesome. A book for everyone. A lay-in- bed read or run-on- a-treadmill kind of book. Felt like I was right there in the middle of the action. I loved following DS Street around Toronto. And I loved the Aussie lingo, it was different. Plus all the charactersfilled their roles perfectly.
NICOLE HALVORSEN, READER'S COMMENT
“
Robert U. Doyle is a unique author in crime fiction. DS Tara Street is blond, bold and brassy but a great character and as it turn out a great detective. The ease which he carries off writing in the voice of a youngish woman Australian detective is impressive. One way he maintains her authenticity is through his skillful use of Australian slang. And there’s a helpful glossary at the end of the book.
“
Great insight into the politics and perils of policing a gangland Toronto. Tara Street is quite a character, finely drawn with all her conflicts and courage very credible. The plight of trafficked young women is presented in heart-breaking detail. This is a
detective story with a moral crusade at its heart, and it’s all the stronger for it.

“
"A cunning (but vulnerable) post colonial (but distinctively Aussie) woman detective working her way in and around the Toronto scene. Interesting characters. Engaging, problematic, a many-layered reading pleasure."
DAVID GILBEY,
AUSTRALIAN POET AND ACADEMIC
“
"DS Tara Street finds that for her to do good it helps to be bad. After all… good girls go to heaven; bad girls go everywhere"
